dj diamond is 24 year old karlis griffin from the west side of chicago. he has been producing music since the age of 13 and djing since 20, heading the flight muzik clique of footwork producers.
you might recall his two tracks from our >bangs & works vol.1< footwork compilation of last year. in addition he has also released several mix cds in chicago, but this, his first international album showcases his unique style of footwork music.

a chance meeting of minds and talents, this surprising new ep comes from a seasoned producer who kicked off the spc series with his stunning 3 part series, alongside a promising new talent whose name is spreading fast in the techno world. jeroen search & markus suckut are the craftsmen in question and this is their first creative output ?working together. >jsms 1.0< introduces us into their world. tough, straight beats pump under a discordant bed of synth tones that build in crescendo that emerges and then carefully dies down. the occasional crack of a lone clap or teasing washes of tape delay add to the tension, as this paranoid moment takes control. a classically warm and minimalist affair, >jsms 4.3< plants a super deep synth theme in our heads before introducing quite a mysterious spoken word, locking us into the vibe without doubt. crisp hats cut through the mix as a perfect tool is born. dub techno excursion >jsms 2.0< is a rough and raw stab track done their way.

big support van oa. bas mooy, dvs1, perc, tommy four seven, go hiyama, paul mac and many more... just before the summer hits, were breaking it down with a massive techno bomb from the subs of scotland. this time its the mighty forward strategy group which will be responsible for some serious damage on the floor. the squad which delivered some amazing tunes for perc traxx and recently did a podcast for clr recordings are now up for a true banger on dynamic reflection. on this ep they split the force and bring both their own solo actions. smear takes over with >inert<, tweaking his synths into phased edges with a phat groove on top. the >retail & leisure< remix is more subdued and trips away with a smooth acid bassline through the track. on the b-side the other half of fsg. patrick walker smashes down the door with a more darker groove. pounding kickdrums, dark rhythms and smooth soundscapes is whats his recipe is for >phase linear<. this will definitely hit the big rooms!! boex & miller breaking down the beat in their rework, which makes the perfect balance for this ep. all n all a superior release by these gents and remix heavyweights. lets pray for more of this pure quality stuff and keep our eyes on the the future. the scene need more labels like this which reflects the current techno movement and promises loads more of that sweet stuff in days to come... dynamic reflection will represent only the true spirit of pure techno, they will put only the quality stuff back on the dancefloor!

shortly after the idea of acting as a record label under the guidance of oliver schories, the first release is already upcoming. different artists from northern germany convinced with their qualities and they found their way on the >nordlichter ep<. mauro basso brings with his >calm water< a potential summer-hit, which should not be missing on any open air event in our opinion. friends of more bassy amusement should listen to the hamburg/bremen based duo apnØ with their >trøt<, a track which encourages even the coolest northern lights to get into action. on the flipside >meet me on the streets< brings some deeper sound onto your turntable, accompained by a video on youtube, the intention of bremen-based duo datastix becomes definitely clear. last but not least julie* from papenburg, who is spinning only vinyl for years, shows us with her >cheerful expression< again, how to make your legs perk up. our advice is: dont disappoint your mum and make your exercises enjoyable: do not forget your turnbeutel in your next set.

max essa returns to feel music! its almost impossible to convey the scope of >iberia sequences< in a 45 second clip, so you gotta take our word for it, 10 minutes of pure bliss, the definition of a musical journey. on the flip side >islands< mixes 80s club sounds with a touch of classic house and of course that by now classic max essa feel, while mr. fabrizio mammarella on remix duties takes the a side up a notch with some acid disco dancefloor action. summer starts here!

all tracks written by mika vainio, except open up and bleed by iggy pop / james williamson. whereas previous works by mika vainio have utilized guitar life (… it eats you up) is the first to use the instrument as its primary sound source. a fascinating, sometimes disturbing and deeply personal work this new 10 track set bears all the hallmarks (exacting attention to detail of tone, rhythm and texture) of vainios previous works with some stunning surprises, such as his cover version of the stooges open up and bleed. tracks such as mining hark bark to the banging beat excesses of pan sonic, with crashed and and give us our daily humiliation and the opening in silence a scream takes a heart reveal a new intensity to vainios work and is yet another superb addition to his already brilliant catalogue

it took a while but we finally got this great remix ep together from catz n dogz escape from zoo album. tanner ross flexes his e-funk biceps and shows us that just a little bit goes a long way with huge bass and sparse vox. this remix goes against the grain the right way, showing restraint and power at the same time. the main man of detroit, carl craig also delivers a sparse and beautiful mix, 1st giving us a lesson in how to properly tweak the space echo and then bringing it back with classic strings and subs. both mixes are getting major support from all across the globe from sebo k to troy pierce to ewan pearson to martyn to l-vis 1990 to james zabiela - overall probably the best feedback we had in a while on a record to be honest.. all great for our kids at the detroit youth foundation where the mothership label donates 100% of profits! also, special thanks to matt colton at air studios, london for donating a mastering session for free to cut this record and support our school.

somewhere between center parcs in nottingham and the white sandy perfection of formentera reside two men dedicated to the art of horizontal dancing. their mums call them ampo and timm (funny names, those notts lads), though we know them by their collective name of coyote. in their minds eye, it is still 1986 and there are leathery looking germans with alarming posing pouches dancing to simply red records on the shimmering terrace at ku club while down the road alfredo is building his legendary reputation at amnesia. apart from the clued-up few, most of the brits are billeted in san antonio where the beers are cheap and the sunburn is plentiful. coyotes music, despite being produced in the east midlands conjures up a world of sun, sea and 80s glamour, while still sounding very much like today.

the word genius is not a term we like to use loosely when speaking about our artists but giorgio sancristoforo aka tobor experiment fits the bill. a gifted musician, soft synth designer, found sound pioneer and he still finds time to make forward thinking disco pop for bearfunk as tobor experiment >disco experience<.
after a well received ep in 2008 we sent giorgio back to the studio with the remit to make an lp so special that it could open new doors for us. well he certainly delivered! opening with the sweet modern disco sounds of >postcards from a nervous breakdown< we then get the first taste of giorgios song writing prowess with >breathe< a rather intense little number.

alex_q is not really unknown in our small family. he show off his talent last year in spring with the >endlich frühling ep< here on mgf. this time he will be even more intimate. as the name suggests, its all about a girl. but who are we to talk about this. there are much more talented people who have done this much better than we can. we just let the music talk. enjoy!

on the 2nd amuse gueule we will present a perfect example of a summer spotlight. in order to do this, alex q and oliver schories joined up in a in gregarious circle, hitting the cookbooks and creating a midsummer nights dream to convince everyones palate. this piece of poetry will be topped off by a dish from our argentinean friend sandru who is well versed in noble ingredients and also has prepared the right wine. have fun while experiencing this tasty tidbits

the last release before we hit the big five-0 here is samuel dan who had previously released together with darlyn vlys on our sub label sweet & sour. he has also shown his face on syncopat, dirty bird und off recordings. with the title track >i hear voices< samuel leans out from the dj booth and gives the vjs something ravey to trigger an emotional parade ... while he hears voices, we see stars. >on the dancefloor< and >do it baby< take us to the next level of this olympic exercise!

our japanese dear friend hidenobu ito is definitely overwhelming and it seems almost comically out of place. from alien hydraulics to percussive steel fractals he allows to take shape within the realm of impossibility. so, what follows next on numbolic records is a stunning lesson in subtle buildup of sound design. theres a feeling of constant movement and shaky energy that means his music never quite stands still. highly resonant and rapidly-panning drum hits act like flickering fluorescent lights. the result is a heavily abstracted layering and perhaps our most sonically release to date. every sound, no matter how tiny, is endlessly tweaked and picked apart. the 12 inch ep is rounded off with 2 prickly re-interpretations. dualism turns up the fog with a super-deep captivating and yet lovingly version. while ditch comes up with a characteristic throbbing dirty techno rework. another 4 smashing tracks by hidenobu ito are added digitally as well as two bonus remixes. kai provides a dance floor-approved version and the hungarian newcomer as we said made a cartoon spaceship to the moon. big pulsating bass kicks will drive you in that particular head-space, but before accidentally killing someone in love, we suggest go get this record instead and start dance! be numbolic!

next up on tirk we have a brand new act, named free school. hailing from birmingham, shoegaze duo andy and steve bring the sunny balearic sounds of summer and the icy kosmiche sounds of winter all in one sweeping hit. free school are maximalist and minimalist all at once.
the band like to compare themselves to caribou, orbital, hot chip, fourtet, and pet shop boys, all pretty good touchstones in our eyes, however it was the sheer gloriousness of their music that had us hooked.
their debut ep features the uplifting and euphoric >ranting and raving< and the 9 minute sound-movie >lemon<. remixes come from richard norris and his time and space machine project (we are going to have to put this guy on the payroll soon) and russian ice cool customer sportloto. free school also appear live (in sheep masks no less) so watch out for them at a venue near you. their debut album is in the pipeline and already sounding good.

next stop for revolution features another new recruit to our ever growing army, hybris. after his huge ep for noisias label vision and releases on critical and blackout, this producer is rapidly rising up the dnb ranks. >pyramids< sees hybris teaming up with revolution stalwart nocturnal to deliver a moody classic brimming with bubbling basslines and razor sharp beats. some serious technological wizadry going on here! >lair< takes a crisp electro-tinged beat and a perpetuating bassline and merges them together to create a deep roller with plenty of atmosphere. definitely one to get those dancefloors rumbling!

undeniably a big record! 20 minutes of kerosene for those inclined towards the more adventurous path: an epic nu-disco-blended original as if cc had a feast with lindstrom. london resident mark chambers delivers a sure hands-up-in-the-air deep house mix and reboot joy confession 1st take is for the fearless amongst our fans: rough detroit analog spirit that will blow your soundsystem or your mind or both.

we are all very excited about presenting the new catalogue for apparel music limited. we decided to offer our fans an alternative point of view to complete our distribution package. kisk, this time with the help of gennaro mastrantonio, is developing a new concept designed for a bigger dance hall. whereas apparel music covers the daytime, warm-up and after-party side, apparel music limited represents the night in all its different shades. we have chosen francesco gemelli to set our experimental work in motion. francescos classic vocal house music takes us back in time, as if disco music never died and the 90s still had something to say.. the aggressive, uncompromising rhythm of spin my mind melts into the love sounds of she loves the 80s, as if travelling back in time were not enough, as if modern times were in the past and the past was hic et nunc, here and now. ughl revamps the visuals in a deep house version of she loves the 80s, turning it into a very up-to-date track, while gennaro gives spin my mind just the right trajectory for limited edition.

hrdvsion may not be the first act we were actually checking out for an irr output but we are not irritated that we found it. with i can t exist our canadian friend successfully strikes the balance between deep housyness and accelerated departure. if you turn the piece of plastic around you find a more typical hrdvsion track celebrating the same magical atmosphere. last but definitely not least the b2 is a fusion-remix by ada that insists on being played in the sunshine.

jon dasilva is one of the original hacienda (the manchester club) djs and was behind the decks when house exploded in the uk during the summer of love in 1988 as well as being a tour dj for new order and the haciendas usa tour in 1990. since then he has been credited for mentoring djs such as sasha and been an inspiration to laurent garnier a.o. he has also got a string of releases under his belt for labels such as soma, deconstruction, robs records and better days. check! on his debut release he teams up with vocalist donald waugh and the return to the roots of house music with >love is all we need<. together they have created a house classic that never was, reminiscent of an essential dj international release or alike. comes as full vocal and dubbed out bootleg mix. on the flip we find brailles on remix duties. fresh from his massive >the year 3000< on our direct current series, braille pushes >love is all we need< into the next century. classic feel good stuff. this is how we like our vocal house!

we continue our trek into the welsh wilderness with crow castle cuts… a medieval manuscript entitled >fouke le fitz waryn< claimed that the castle, known as chastiel bran, was in ruin as early as 1073. the opening track comes from we play house artists and belgian buddies maxim lany & lemakuhlar who give us an absolute killer balearic beauty here with their stunning sunshine song >exotic guitar<. we also introduce three hot new producers to ccc - local talent from the castles valley. compelling!

nuria ghia has entered the world of production solidly. after creating her own label bluecube, the beautiful catalan girl is welcome in our beloved globox. nuria loves electronic music, her experience in the booth amounts to 11 years, having played in the most important clubs in spain.
